How to show Framerate on android?
I just tried out the DraStic demo on my GPD XD and I'm really impressed with how well it runs. However I'd really like to make sure it's running 60fps before I drop $6 on it. I don't see any options to show the framerate. Is there a way to do this? Thanks

Re: How to show Framerate on android?
yes its in options Change options> General> Show FPS
I have paid for this app and I can tell you I run it with High Res 3D HD graphics and it runs at 100fps on my quad core smartphone
if your smartphone is low end then you might want to try fiddle with the settings for the best performance
if the demo runs fine on your device...then the paid version should run the same as well

I don't see that option, maybe it's not in the demo?
However I noticed that exophase made this emulator... I've been using gPSP since it first came out around 2006, so.... I think exophase deserves my money. I'm gonna go ahead and get the full and hopefully it'll show framerate

Yup, bought the full version and confirmed that the "show fps" option is not in the demo.
Exophase: You might wanna include the FPS in the demo, IMO it's very important so people can gauge the performance before they buy it.
But yeah, I've thrown 4 games at it: N+, Ketsui, Trackmania Turbo, and New Super Mario Bros, and they all run 100%, even with the high res 3d rendering. Amazing....
Exophase is a true master.... At the time when it came out, gPSP was incredible because they were still making new GBA games, and here you could emulate them fullspeed on another handheld.
Now DS is perfect. Really didn't expect that to come so soon. Really really well done my man.
In addition, the ability to resize and move the screens wherever you want is ACE! I especially like where you make one screen big and have the second screen really small over to the right. Excellent!
I'll be using this quite a lot... No more need for the busted DS lite with broken hinge

Re: How to show Framerate on android?
P.S... one last thing, it only shows the emulation speed percentage, not an actual framerate. I'd rather see a solid 60 up there instead of a 100%... But that's just personal preference.
Re: How to show Framerate on android?
There is no option to show fps you can only see relative speed in percentages.
So 100/100% or 85/100%
To be perfectly honest I am not actually sure what fps a nintendo DS runs at. Maybe growing up with the original nintendo, and then the 16 bit systems made it so I really only notice if a fps takes a major hit like a 60fps game hitting 50 for a few seconds then going back or a 30 fps game hitting 25 and then going to 32. Personally I can not tell the difference between 30 fps video/games and 60fps ones usually, I only notice a game running at a fps it was not ment to run at.
But back to the GPD XD at 0 frame skip, no high rez (some you can do), and multithreading off (most games just to avoid the few rare issues that can pop up). You should be able to maintain 95-100/100% on most games. Some games may not run full speed in all scenes without frame skipping and multi threading (if it causes no issues in the game) and some you will be able to enable high resolution with out the speed ever dropping from 100/100%.

Keep in mind that high resolution only really effects 3d objects and as far as I know all 4 of those games are 2d. You will incure more of a performance hit in games like mario kart ds, mario 64 ds, the 3d final fantasy remakes, phantasy star zero, and other 3d games. It can not really make a sprite or 2d background suddenly have more detail. At best by doubling the pixels it allows for some shaders to maybe work a little better, and at worst it can negatively effect image quality.organic io wrote: But yeah, I've thrown 4 games at it: N+, Ketsui, Trackmania Turbo, and New Super Mario Bros, and they all run 100%, even with the high res 3d rendering. Uh Trackmania and New Super Mario Bros are definitely 3D. I also noticed that in N+, the ninja looks crisper with high res 3d. Agreed that Ketsui will probably not look any different because it's purely 2d pixel art.TkSilver wrote:Keep in mind that high resolution only really effects 3d objects and as far as I know all 4 of those games are 2d. If frameskip is off anything less than full speed will result in audio breaks.
About 59.82Hz nominally but I'm sure it varies a bit from unit to unit. But essentially 60.TkSilver wrote:To be perfectly honest I am not actually sure what fps a nintendo DS runs at.
