What does the 3screens/fork button do in settings wheel?

Hello. I noticed this button that looks like a bottom screen forking into two top screens in the settings wheel that can be pulled up during a game. What does it do?

It switches between 1 and 2 screen layouts on the fly for you so you don't have to open the full in game menu. Like most of the other quick access shortcuts.

What do you mean, 1 and 2 screen layouts? Aren't there 2 screens total?

There are single screen layouts despite the DS being a dual screen system. Though in all honesty there are some DS games which do not really put any useful info in the top or botom screen, or only intermittently put useful info on both screens.

Some people play Drastic on devices that do not have a large screen (smaller non phablet phones), or have devices in which it would be non optimal to hold in a portrait orientation (jxd7800, archos gamepad, or other integrated gaming control tablets/phones). So for these devices sometimes however odd it may seem to play a 2 screen system using only 1 screen, sometimes the comprimises you make are necessary or better then other alternatives.

So yes single screen layouts exist and sometimes ppl want to switch between a single or a normal dual screen layout.
