Transferring save data from SuperNDS to DraStic

I just got DraStic after SuperNDS kept crashing and was trying to transfer my save of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky to DraStic, but cant figure it out. I saved in-game(not a save state) and copied the file from the "battery" folder of SuperNDS and copied it to the "backup" folder of DraStic, but the "continue" button is grayed out after I did this. Then I tried to make a placeholder save in DraStic and then renaming it by adding "old save file" to the end of it and then copying my SuperNDS file in, but then the "continue" button takes me to the the placeholder save. Saw these methods from youtube and other threads of this forum. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? Can someone help?

Do the save files have the same name as the rom and do they end in .dsv rather than .sav?

Also the "Continue" button is for resuming the last save state of a game you played. If you want to load an in-game save, you much launch the game through the "Load new game" option and then "Start Game".
