App freezes when I click on "load new game"

I already have games downloaded, but when I click on "load new game" the loading thing with the text "scanning for games" appears, after that the app freezes and doesn't work, this has been going for months, and I've seen another person on the play store complain (at least in the Latin America reviews) please tell me if this can be fixed, and if it can't welp idk

Did you pay for it? I've seen this issue happen mostly on pirated versions of the emulator.
