I did own a GBA advance handheld with pokemon emerald on it only...so I changed to VBA where I can use the keyboard to play and fast forward...

If you can figure out how to move save files (I have no clue), then you can use the My Boy! emulator for Android. It has Link Cable emulation which is perfect for trading.

Moved on from GBA ages ago DS or Drastic is my thing now.
