Dolphin Emulator
As some as you may know, there Is a gc/wii emulator for android and PC, known by the name of Dolphin. Recently, the developer of Dolphin has made great efforts improve the speeds of Dolphin (Some users got 1fps on a s4). This version is unreleased (Maybe not anymore but you can test it!) but its just showing that it can be done.

Here, the dev is getting around 60fps during the intro of the game(lol the rest I couldn't see, it was too blurry) The device he is running is a nexus 10, with only 1.7Ghz dual core! Now, just imagine when Dolphin gets more exciting features, think of speeds on a s3 or s4!
Just thought I'd share this news with you

Re: Dolphin Emulator
Honestly, I don't see Wii/GC emulation speeds on Android anywhere close to even 30fps steady within 2 years.
Re: Dolphin Emulator
This could be a fake, i could be here all night listing stuff that turned out to be fake, mainly in the psp scene

Re: Dolphin Emulator
Here you can see alll their progress (a lot for Android, lately). I've always followed Dolphin's development... however, I'm not really keen on it for mobile phones. Firstly, it'll take some years until the speed will be something near playable (but ok, that's pretty much the case for all emulators). And secondly, most interesting games on the Wii need motion controls and even if they manage to cleverly assign them to the mobile's motion tracking, I sure as hell won't swing around my mobile and accidentally throw it against a wall ^^
Oh well, for Gamecube games it'll be nice, though, I guess.
Anyway, I was always only looking forward to a NDS emulator because it just perfectly makes sense on a smart phone (though I never imagined there would actually be one that could run games so flawlessly so quickly )

Re: Dolphin Emulator
I already knew about the dolphin alpha builds, i meant the game running at 60fps even if its the intro video.

Re: Dolphin Emulator
Well it wasn't fake I can assure you! I expect next year we can run games around 50 fps
Re: Dolphin Emulator
Sarcasm? Because it'll take years to get 30fps, unless within the next year they start making phones with x64- or x86-based PC CPUs, which dolphin is coded for.Howdareme wrote:Well it wasn't fake I can assure you! I expect next year we can run games around 50 fps
Re: Dolphin Emulator
They are making 64 bit phones next year.
No, if it can runs around 15 Fps, it would take years to get x2 of that? Nice logic.
A quote from a tester:
" The speed seems to be purely limited due to
the incomplete JIT core. "
I'm pretty sure its not gonna take years to complete a jit core. The only emulator that's possible and that hasn't been done and WOULD take years is a ps2 emulator. We have the hardware, but whether somebody wants to write 1 million + lines to code it is up to them.
