[Suggestion]Free version name

Post by AsHperson » Sat Aug 24, 2013 6:25 pm

I just checked on the free version in the Play Store and I think I know of a way to get less bad reviews on it. Instead of calling it a "Demo" which is expected to be able to do much more than you can do int he free version. I am suggesting to change it from "Demo" to "Check" or "Checker" because that's what it is really, to check how well it works on a certain device without having to pay any money.

I agree with AsH. Usually with free/demo versions, they are severely ad populated, but still fully playable. With checker, it might remove all doubt.

If only people would actually take 2 minutes to read the descriptions -__-

Trial might also work. Personally I think the name is fine, when I saw it I just expected it would be a limited version.

I think trial is moreso eluding to a timed version of the full game(which it isnt really).

I have to agree with a change of name for the demo version. For some people (who i wonder how they managed to even get a smartphone in the first place) want everything for free and laid out in front of them. Many will rate 1 star if things aren't as easy as possible to do.
Devices running Android:

- Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (CM12.1, overclocked, undervolted)
- Asus Nexus 7 2013 (Stock Marshmallow...to play Pokemon GO on...)
- Tenfifteen QW09 SmartWatch (Kitkat)
- Fujitsu Lifebook T4410 Touchscreen Laptop (Remix OS 3.0)

I doubt the people who rate it one star will care if it's named differently, and I think "checker" is very unusual and confusing. Personally I have never seen a demo version of software that was just a feature reduced but otherwise totally usable version of the full thing. Even on Google Play the feature reduced and ad loaded versions of emulators are called "Lite", not "Demo."

The description is very clear about why it's there and what it can do. Honestly I'd rather people gave the demo a bad rating if it acts as an intelligence/sensibility filter keeping them from the full version.
