DraStic crash since Pixel 3a January 2020 update

Post by wazyk » Tue Jan 07, 2020 12:44 pm

With yesterday's latest Pixel 3a update (QQ1A.200105.002) I experience crashes with Drastic and weird behaviour:
- loading savestate from "Continue" menu : crash and app restart
- Exit menu is then not working. In fact, exit does not work after going in any menu in the app.
- New game launch : crash and app restart (so not related with a corrupted savestate)

Everything was OK prior to security update. I have latest version from the Playstore. I tried device restart and app reinstall with no luck.
Crash report has also been sent from the app, with debug infos.

Can you look into that and please fix this blocking situation ?

Please update to the beta as described here: https://drastic-ds.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=828

I cannot reproduce these issues with the beta build on my QQ1A.200105.002 Pixel 3a, but they do seem to be present on the regular one.

Have you solved it? I can confirm that upgrading to the beta version fixes the issue.

I don't know what specifically broke on the 3a, but yes this particular issue is fixed in r2.5.2.0a

Then we're back to the good old engineer's adage: if it's working, but you don't know why...Then don't touch it!
