HD Sprites Render?

Post by RevivedTorchite » Wed Feb 27, 2019 6:45 pm

I would love a Feature that makes Game Sprites all 64-bit or maybe HD. I seen other YouTubers play pokemon with Higher Quality like 64-bit sprites. I would love this Feature alot. What do you think?

Are you sure this isn't any kind of romhack/assets loading ?

You mean texture filtering? That's something I'd like to see as well

Just enable High resolution 3D rendering in the video settings and set the video filter to FXAA HQ or SMAA and it should look pretty similar. The youtubers are likely using the experimental builds of Desmume.

I would imagine that what is a setting to upscale textures before rendering.

It'd be nice. For example, if the game renders a spite to the screen right now but you're using high-resolution 3D, generally the pixels of the sprite will take up three or four pixels each in the high res output, so the postprocessing filter deals with the rendered sprite as though the jagged edges are built-in. Whereas if the textures were upscaled prior to rendering, they could be smoothed much better.
