Warhawk ds - sound problems

Ok, this is pretty niche.
Warhawk is a great little independent freeware shoot em up game. When run in drastic there's some weird sound glitch and no music. Sound effects play in game though.
There are two versions on the site, I've tried both and the problem persists. One version has a data folder with assets including the music separate from the .nds file.
The game has music in the desmues emulator on retroarch but I prefer drastic.
