Drastic issues with Pokemon Soul Silver

I am having issues with the emulator crashing/resetting during the game.

I am currently using the latest version 2.6.1a.

Right before the first city, my game froze, and could not function at all. Going back to the previous in-game save (I was using both) would be no help, as it would still be frozen.
As i tried to start a new game, the emulator/game crashes/resets right after I set my name.
I have tried uninstalling and deleting the Drastic folder and tried to start a new game after reinstalling Drastic, but it was still the same.

I have tried using the AP patched version of the ROM but it is still the same.

Please help me :S

Is it October 1 there? If so, you should get 2.1.6.2a. If it's not up for you yet, you can temporarily change the date back to September until it is.

Come to think of it, yes it did indeed stop working as soon as it turned October 1. Thank you
