how far have you gotten in this game without crashing?

Right now I'm on the 7th badge & I have been playing ever since the first release of drastic with no problems with c-gear or random crashes

Are you able to switch pokemon out of battle?

Yes I am able to switch Pokemon's . no issues what so ever

I've played through the whole game with no issues whatsoever.

If you're getting crashes, turn off multi-threaded rendering. I couldn't get past the first world in NSMB with this on, and have not even tried it on Black 2.

Switching to a patched rom should fix the freezes.

mine is crashing D: patched rom + fix exp , last version of drastic from google play..

Ive just done the 4th gym with pokes around Lvl 37 (playing pokemon Volt White 2)
