DS Touchscreen stop working on my phone

I have a Kyocera Edge phone, and I'm playing Pokemon Soul Silver and not far into the game the touchscreen control for the ds is not responding. the control buttons for the emulator works, but the the touchscreen interface to the ds. Is there any way to fix this? Do I have to uninstall and re-install the emulator in order for it to work?

If you press the little button with the arrow at the bottom of the screen, some more buttons are shown. One of them (above the menu button) has a little stylus icon and selects between 3 touch modes:
- DS touchscreen and on-screen controls active
- Only DS touchscreen sctive
- Only on-screen buttons active

Can you try pressing that button and see if it works again?
