Feature Request: Screenshot button

Post by DeepWeeb » Tue Dec 03, 2019 7:48 pm

Really I hate having to take screenshots directly from my phone, especially since they are crusty JPGs distorted by my phone's screen resolution.

So a screenshot feature should go as follows:
  • Take screenshots at the internal resolution
  • Screenshots are saved in PNG format
  • Give the option to either take a screenshot of the top screen, the bottom screen or both screens combined
Please ;)

I find the recording thing to be a bit out of the question. It's a pretty resource-intensive feature for a phone, especially mid-end models.

Don't phones have a built-in hardware video encoder ? (For example when recording a video with the camera app)

I'm sorry if this is too much for mid-end models. Screenshot is still very nice to have ^^

Screen recorders have very little performance impact even on low end budget phones such as ones using the very common Snapdragon 625 chipset. Most apps use Android's built in screen recorder which is very optimised. Its is very much not out of the question.
