Enabling the emulator connect to a Wi-fi network in order to acces community-held servers

There was an exploit discovered that you can actually connect to WFC through a private, custom server- or something like that, I am not the best in this field. Story cut short, you have to set the Auto-Obtain DNS setting on off through manual settings, then set it up as 164.132.44.106 , though you might encounter some errors. GTS is off atm if I am not wrong, but it's still awesome. Here's the actual video with a tutorial, I really recommend watching it, cuz the guy explains this much better than me and has some important links in the description: https://youtu.be/Sh0AZR-tKwM

Now, here comes the real question: will Drastic ever have a way to connect to Wi-fi (even if the security would be really low, as the ds only accepts no password Wi-fi connections (forgot how those are called) or WPA), either using the phone's Wi-fi connection or perhaps using other tricks?
Looking back to this feature, it was worthless, but now I feel like it can grow into something nice and big.
So, will the devs ever consider such an option now that such a feature exists.

At the moment there is no recent answers about this from the developers.
