Honebrew support

Post by jahguy7 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 2:29 pm

Is homebrew support planned in any future releases? I know the FAQ said some of them were playable, but I haven't been able to find any stable ones (after about 5 tries). Thanks

There is support for games that use DLDI, but you need to create an R4 image and you need to manually patch the game to be R4 compliant with a DLDI patcher. The readme explains this in more detail.

Great, thanks! If I do this, would it effect other (commercial) games negatively in any way? Thanks again

No, it won't effect any game in the same way playing pokemon on drastic won't effect mario kart.

I think it actually triggers anti-piracy detection if R4 emulation is on all the time (since the game tries to see if it's running off a flash cart), but the R4 emulation isn't enabled unless the game has a homebrew designator string in its header.

Sorry I should have been more clear I figured that DraStic didn't load the hombrew code orncode emulation unless it was specifically selected. Like Drastic does not know any other game other then the one you ae trying to run.
