Pokemon black 2 crash

Post by chilly22 » Sat Jan 24, 2015 3:42 pm

I didn't use the in-game save for a while and now when I try to save in game or try to disable c-gear communication the game freezes.
But the real problem for me is the black screen when the gym leader skyla asks you if you're ready to fly to the Reversal Mountain, I thought the problem could be caused by the corrupted save, but maybe not.
Help? :?

2.2.1.2a but I started playing in older versions and I used some cheats to obtain first generation pokemons.
I don't think the cause of the problem is the use of cheats anyway.

If you're using a savestate of a game that had cheats enabled at any point then they're probably still affecting it. Try loading from an in-game save.

This is the problem. I tried to reload an in-game save and save again but it continued to freeze while saving so without a reason I deleted all in-game saves.
An other thing, when I try to save in game some question marks appear in the date.

I think you've broken it with cheats. I've seen something similar happen before when someone used them. Sorry, but you shouldn't have deleted your in-game saves.

This may or may not be related but I am seeing black screens, too, testing this game on the latest BETA build 61. Enable cheats turned off, skip frame set to none, multithreaded 3D rendering turned off, not using any savestates or even any in-game saves, same result.

Steps to repro:
1. start a new game
2. play up to the point where you acquire your first pokemon
3. press [x] to open the menu
4. choose pokemon, summary, and observe the game hang.

Someone else had already reported it in the glitch repository thread before, but I just double-checked to reconfirm that it's not to do with corrupt savestates. :?

That would be me... I wasn't quite sure where to post it, as I didn't think it deserved a new thread, but perhaps a new thread would have attracted more responses. Like you, I used no savestates before the one I posted here, and the only cheat I used was enabling Challenge Mode, which I promptly disabled after making an ingame save. At any rate, I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this issue.

Is auto-trim on? If not try turning it on. Lordus says he can't reproduce this, but I know there have been issues with 512MB ROMs on some devices that are mitigated if you trim.

It's also possible that it's an issue which doesn't happen with a different ROM, either because of some compatibility issue (although I have no idea what would be different between them) or because the ROM is just broken or corrupt.
