Drastic for the Recalbox

Hey, all

I have been asking around on the Recalbox-Discord, why they do not add a DS Emulator for their Operating System. They told me, that they only add open source emulators.
It is true that Retropie has Drastic as a package, but Retropie has some flaws, whereas Recalbox does not.

For those that do not know, Recalbox and Retropie are flashable systems commonly used on Raspberry Computers, to emulate games, such as NES, SNES, GBA, GBC, GB, Sega Master System and so forth.

Now, i wanted to ask if it is possible to pay for an open source version of Drastic, so it can be used in Recalbox? I would pay money for it.

Asking in a different way!
What is the possibility of the project being open source and what would it depend on for that to happen?

Its already planned to happen this year. There are some remaining preparations before it goes open source.

Thanks for the info!
It helped in the development of Batocera and Drastic is an emulator long awaited by users, both from Batocera and Recalbox among other systems as well.

There will be a Retroarch core of it so you'll be able to use it on any Linux distro that supports Retroarch as well.

@liberodark

I have checked both Lakka and Retroarch (Retroarch Ports for Raspberry Pi and Android) and haven't found the drastic core.

Retropie uses it and somehow gets it to run smoothly on my Raspberry Pi 3 B+

Is this confirmed or speculation? Just curious, thanks 🙂
