I know i'm a week late, but I only just now thought about making a thread for this.
So during last week's Nintendo Direct, Bethesda announced that not only are they bringing Skyrim to the Switch (which was given a November release date), but they're also porting the 2016 remake of Doom. AND they're also porting the upcoming Wolfenstein ll: The New Colossus as well. Which is insane, since both are incredibly graphics-heavy, Mature-rated titles with gobs of gore and controversial enemies in them (demons and Nazis, respectively). Doom was slated for this holiday (no actual release date yet), and Wolfenstein was given a generic 2018 release (despite the other versions of the game releasing next month). Obviously, the delays are due to optimization- tweaking the engine, lowering the quality (if needed), and getting the framerate at playable speeds. Today, footage of Doom on the Switch was released (https://www.engadget.com/2017/09/21/doo ... -supposed/), and it looks great. The graphics took a slight dip in quality, and the game now runs at 30fps instead of 60, but it still looked and felt like Doom. And I can easily imagine Wolfenstein being the same way. (I'm actually really looking forward to Wolfenstein, I'm definitely picking it up when I get a Switch.) These ports really show us that despite being less powerful, the Switch can easily compete with the PS4 and Xbox One. And other companies are porting their bigger games to Switch as well. Rockstar recently announced their re-release of L.A. Noire, which comes out November 14 on all current platforms, including Switch. And Square Enix is in talks about trying to port the full version of Final Fantasy XV onto the system too (hopefully they can pull it off).

So what do you guys think about this? Any of you excited about these ports?
