Try sideloading (installing from an app) Exo's version of the update.


I've got a build ready, it can be downloaded here and sideloaded for testing:

If possible could one of the people with problems w/Pie please sideload and let me know if it works ...

Do you happen to have a copy of the pre update version for people to sideload if this messed up the license verification for them?

The sideloaded version seemed to fix the error 739 license bug for me so try it out as a temp solution if you can't play currently.

Using a SSL cert that can be easily forged would be more dangerous to the users, who might think it is safe due to the little lock icon, then not having any SSL at all.

WannayCry spreads with emails and pear-to-pear. Having a good antivirus is always good, but if there is still stupids that opens everything they see WannaCry will spreads even more.

Just don't use the password you use on this site on others if you are worried (you should not anyways.... but that is besides the point). Other then that there is really nothing here that would be of issues even if it got hacked (besides the super secret admin board) and SSL certs cost money.

Paid and free in store is also nice especially for people who don't particularly want to have to check the github all the time to see if a new update is out.

Depends on how intrusive the antivirus is (how much activity it scans and blocks) and how camouflaged the payload (in this case the ransomware) is. In these types of instances if you care about your data then you can not have too many lines of defense.

Friendly reminder If you have not updated windows in a while (this includes xp even) do so as soon as possible also back up your important data to someplace not on your computer (NAS, Cloud storage, usb drive that is not connected longer then it takes to do the backup, ext.)

Wouldn't something like this require Exophase's permission? You're trying to implement what is essentially a customer support hotline without consent. That's like if you made an app and I release an update for it made by me without your approval.
Not saying this is a terrible idea or anything ...
