Spirit Tracks mic input still not working

Post by Musth » Thu Aug 15, 2013 11:40 pm

I updated to the new version earlier that is supposed to fix the mic issues in the Zelda games, and it seems to work in Phantom Hourglass but I am still not able to play the flute in Spirit Tracks. Is this not working for everyone or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Edit: I decided to continue playing through phantom hourglass since it worked to yell through the door at that one point, but then a few minutes later when you have to blow out the torches it doesn't seem to work

I heard this from another tester: "Works, bit difficult to get a constant stream of air to be recognized (cuts out most of the time), but it works. Tested with the options menu in both games and the flute in spirit tracks."

Ive tried, still nothing.

I went to the options menu of the game and did the mic test, no matter how i blew on it, i could only get 2 bars out of 4 bars. Seems like the mic volume is too low for the game to understand that u are blowing into it, should it hit the maximum level? Oh well..... Playing on a Galaxy S3.

It's possible it varies from device to device. Another possibility is that the game does something with the microphone gain (amplification) setting, which I'm currently not doing anything with. I'll check if that's the case.

It may be helpful if one of the posters in this thread is available to beta test this for us. It's kind of difficult for us to release test Android versions right now but I think we can manage something. Preferably we'd need someone who can come on IRC - if anyone's available and interested please send me a PM.

I wouldn't mind testing it on the Note II but I cannot send PMs because the forums don't allow for it yet.

Too busy to live help in IRC, but i would like other posters to post about the Mic Test volume gauge in this particular game, It would be good to know how everyone's device detects the mic noise level. Specially the beta tester, maybe he is getting full level on the mic test, explaining why his test worked. I imagine that air in a mic should give the highest noise in all cases.

Another thing that could be helpful is to try using this NDS homebrew:

And let me know what the volume is like on the playback, along with whether or not it sounds cut off or distorted.
