Android 7 - Drastic doesn't recognize roms

Post by Ultraviolence » Mon Apr 09, 2018 7:49 pm

Hey guys,I'm using GS7 and android7.
I bought drastic over a year ago and it used to work well, I decided I wanna play some nds games again on my phone and redownloaded it from playstore.
This time though, drastic doesn't recognize any of the roms I try to play [it has all perimissions checked].
I'm using playstore's latest version (r2.5.0.3a).
I tried opening the roms manually using ES Explorer's "open as" option but for some reason Drastic isn't listed there as one of the options.
I tried uninstalling and installing multiple times but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?
p.s I can swear I opened this thread a few hours ago but it was suddenly gone so...re-opening it now

thanks in advance!

Well, you did open 2 threads. The thing is first time posters require mod permission. In any case, please check the rom if corrupted/incorrect file size and/or your compression if it is supported (zip,rar,7zip etc)

my bad, didn't know it required permission.
as for the roms, they're okay (not corrupted, are extracted and are at full size)
I know that because when I checked with other free playstore apps they recognized and ran them well.
it feels like drastic is the only app that doesnt recognize the roms
(I used both the roms that worked a year ago and downloaded new ones, none are recognized by drastic)

What do you mean with "does not recognize"?
Can Drastic see the ROMs but can't play it?
Or Drastic can't see any ROM?
Or Drastic does not even see the phone's folders?

Maybe you didn't granted the app permission to access the storage?

Drastic has all the permissions checked
And by not recognize I mean it doesnt "see" the rom files,I cant choose a game to play.

Are they archive files? A Nintendo DS ROM is in the .nds format.
If it is an archive (.rar, .zip, .7z, ...) decompress it using an app like ZArchiver.

I think DraStic has a function to read zipped ROMs. But it isn't exactly reliable as it has to decompress the file on the fly, but it is there if you need it.
