When ever any Pokémon uses the move Metal Sound the screen and the Pokemon turn black and once the move has ended the animation the Pokémon stay black. They will regain their color if inflicted with damage but as soon as the screen returns to Fight! It crashes.

Has anyone else experienced this or found a work around other than shutting off the animations?

Try turning off the animations from the in-game settings. Also if you have Multitreathed 3D rendering enabled also try to disable it
