Pokemon black 2 black screen on menus.

Hi there.
Firstly fantastic emulator, better than desmume on pc.
So my problem is that when I enter the "pokemon" menu on black 2 and attempt to exit the screen goes black and stays that way.
I did google around and found an old thread for this but no answers.
Is there a fix? Is it my rom? This is a brand new save too, fresh game.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Before you ask I have paid for the app in the play store, version r 2.4.0.1a
