Pokemon black issues

Hey I've had trouble with Pokemon black. It runs super smooth and there seems to be no issues there. But I cannot touch the start and select buttons. They don't even react when I do let alone open the menus... Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Pokémon Black and White both use the 'X' button to open the menus.
