Pokemon HeartGold EV Max Cheat

Hi everyone,
I have some trouble with the EV Max Cheat. Doesn't seem to work. Anyone managed to get it to work?
I did the IV Max cheat and it works perfectly (able to check using the cheat to view IVs and EVs) so, as it is the same process I'm definitely doing it right.
Also added the code manually, still doesn't work.
Any idea on how to get it to work?
Using 2.5.0.3a buid 89 on Samsung Galaxy Tab S2
