Question on how drastic works

Post by the_cake_is_a_lie » Wed Aug 21, 2013 7:35 am

I was just wondering when drastic opens a .zip does it unzip it in a temp folder and delete it after or does it save the unzipped rom in RAM? :?

The latter, which seems to be a problem if people don't have enough memory. Probably something we have to think up alternatives for.

Are you tight on memory and can't unzip the files prior to emulating? If you unzip them with winrar or root Explorer or something it works smoother :o

Well, for what it is worth, I tried to zip some of my files using es file explorer and DraStic cannot read them while I downloaded same roms already zipped and it worked fine. Seems that Drastic is a bit choosy or es has crap zipping algorithm
