Activation issues for cheats Pokemon Soul Silver

Just to put this out there, i have the full paid version and it works great, cept for the forementioned problem. The cheats that do not require me to activated seems to work no problem. However some cheats like the ev/iv checker doesnt seem to work although at one point it did show me the ev values, but the values were stuck. As you may know, this cheats requires you to hold the L or R button while you cycle through. If anyone can tell me why this doesnt work would be great.
