Um... this is already an international forum, just that english is the main language. Its not like the community is thousands strong so we can get korean, chinese, japanese, etc. Language support...
Oh ok, thanks for the correction

I mean you are using the screen and playing a game with it so unless you want to just leave your phone in your pocket and never use it then battery drain is pretty normal. Also helps to know what ROM you're running since a lot of phone's stock ROM uses a lot more RAM which in turn drains the battery.

Also its great that the emu is optimized to run really well although i'm hoping in later updates the battery drain is optimized a little.
Well, ALL emulators are resource hogs. It is especially true when you start adding bells and whistles. But on its core, it needs those resources since it tries to emulate how the hardware of the original does it. And on top of that, it runs whatever software the hardware uses. I at most think battery on drastic can be optimized at 10% of what it is now since nds is one of the most difficult to emulate handhelds. Not that I think little of exo and lordus but I like to minimize expecation so I don't get too disappointed.
I don't disagree that emulators in general are resource hogs however with some optimization battery drain can be improved upon even ever so slightly which is better than nothing to be brutally honest, even a small 3% is still a good improvement to me since it opens the opportunity for less battery drain which in a time where battery technology is stale at best getting the most out of your battery is an important thing for many.

I'm a little curious how can emulating NDS be more complicated than the PSP since it uses less resources and RAM than the PSP does but that is just a curiosity of mine, also as great as drastic is the battery does indeed drain much quicker than a less functional nds4droid which does show more optimization is needed but for what it can do at the moment it is fantastic.

Well, if you compare nds and psp hardware wise, psp seems like a much more capable and in theory, much more resource ntensive machine. However, seeing as in a ds, you need to emulate 2 cores against 1, the resource needed is also about twice. Also psp isn't touch capable. You need to emulate and map the touch screen on a ds. All this adds up making a ds a complicated piece of hardware to emulate software wise

Ah okay, makes sense although wouldn't disabling the touch screen in games that don't use them be able to free up resources?

Just throwing ideas around. Anyways thanks for clearing that up.
