That's what I meant. TWEWY was super buggy at first. That app didn't even work on iphones until a remixed version was released with a fix. The android version was fixed quickly though. Around the time being, the game was around $30 USD and quite a few people couldn't get a refund apparently.

To this day, I see posts of those who downloaded the old version and can't get the new version to work because of downloading the old one.
Thankfully google now has the 2 hour refund time window so when you buy an app, you can simply go to the play store page and the uninstall button will say Refund instead if it hasnt been 2 hours yet. Useful if a game doesnt work or is very buggy. You can only do it once though (though I am unlikely to rebuy a buggy game unless I really want to play it and the dev has fixed it)

Yeah, I'm glad Google returned to a 2 hour window. 15 minutes was way too little. If the app doesn't work or doesn't do what you expected it to do you should be able to get a refund without having to go through the whole ordeal of asking the developers, and 15 minutes isn't long enough to determine that.

Maybe we can thank Steam for this. Their 2 hour policy did upset some developers who make very short games (http://steamed.kotaku.com/steam-refunds ... 1708523970) but I don't really feel that much sympathy for them.

Doesn't Google Play precede Steam on that by a lot of time? Can't remember exactly.

Personally I still find myself on a rush with 2 hours. Either drop everything and test it throughly or overlook a crippling detail and feel bad about your purchase, or beg for a refund. In a optimal world I would make it 1 day, monitoring users who try to abuse it (red flag). Does your app/game lack staying power for that? Well, I have bad news.

A high quality game can aim for a higher price (good luck though) and if anything I would love to see them, but things like Square Enix games are a mockery: terrible ports of old games with ridiculous limitations and online drm. Thanks emulation.

As for HM I had some fun with the original on SNES and RF3, but can't bring myself to finish them. Kind of a sandbox approach; good gameplay but uninteresting plot.

They were 2 hours a long time ago, but then they switched to 15 minutes and only switched back comparatively recently. I think after Steam.

I agree, I'd probably make it something like 1-2 hours of in-app time and 1-2 days to use it.

Haha, sorry. It's just like Skyrim, i loved fooling around and even did some questlines to unlock a few niceties, but lost my drive in the end.

Me playing Harvest Moon is quite funny with that said. Rune Factory at least tapped into my completinist core with five billion things to level and enjoyable action gameplay made things smoother. HM was more farm-driven, and therefore not the most thrilling game in existence, but curiosity had me going day after day.

Writing this made me remember Legend of Mana on the PSX, which had some similar aspects like fighting, pets, orchard antics and strange overworld. Have you played it?

Or have the developer choose sometime between a 2 hour to 2 day period.
